There are no official tours or guided visits to the island, but visitors can take a boat ride to Heimaey and then hire a local fisherman to take them to Bjarnarey. Prices for the boat ride vary depending on the season and the number of passengers, but typically range from 15,000 to 25,000 Icelandic krona (approximately 100 to 170 euros).

Once on Bjarnarey, visitors can explore the island's rugged landscape and observe its unique flora and fauna, including puffins and other seabirds. There are no official hiking trails on the island, but visitors can walk along the shore and climb the steep cliffs to get a better view of the surrounding area.

In the surrounding area, visitors can also explore Heimaey, which has a number of attractions including the Eldheimar volcanic museum and the Stórhöfði nature reserve. The museum is open daily from 10am to 6pm, with admission prices ranging from 1,600 to 2,500 Icelandic krona (approximately 11 to 17 euros).
